Busy, busy, busy

Wow. I am so tired right now. I thought for sure I was gonna fall asleep on my way back from Neenah (yes, driving). But enough about how my life affects my physical health...

I've stopped my java applet for the moment, mostly because I can't seem to find a good piece of collision response physics that fits my basic scenario. Everything is either too complex or a piece of shit. So, in place of my personal programming, I've mostly been playing Star Wars: Battlefront or SSX 3. Also, in the last week or two I bought a new book on 3D game engine design using DirectX 9 and C#. So I've been reading that (and it has very, very good ideas and organizes things well), but when I went to code it in VB (I'm going to code VB first, then C# so I can better learn C#), I found he only gave you snippets of code, and never pulled it all together anywhere. Like I said, it is well organized and good code, he just never explained how to put everything together. Unless he does that all in a later chapter, this is kind of annoying. So I downloaded the code from the book and am converting that into VB for now, trying to go in the order he describes in the book. I guess as long as it works at the end it's still good.

Yeah, I'm really short on time. I work 25+ hours a week (with an hour driving time one way 4 days a week), go to school about 17 hours a week, and have little odd things here and there to do. A typical day involves me getting up at quarter to 6 (though that rarely happens), getting ready, then driving to Neenah for a little over an hour so I can spend 4 hours on a client site for work. Then I drive a half hour back to school and spend 2-3 hours there. Some days I even go back to work for 2 hours or to the local branch of my college for 4 hours. Fun.

Calculating... Calculating...
24 * 5... 25 + 17... that - this... subract average of 7 hours of sleep a day... one more calculation...
Well, it looks like I have about 6 1/2 hours of free time a day on average plus weekends. Sure doesn't seem like it. Oh, and by the way, that's not counting time to do homework outside of class or any extra-curricular activities.

Well, it's been another fun one. Sure has been a while (a sure sign of my busy life (or laziness)). I did say I only did this to get an account so I could not post anonymous comments, but it's turning out to be pretty cool.
